The Shared Research Facility "Kamchatka Center for Elemental, Mineral, and Isotopic Analysis" was established at the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2025.

Mission

To consolidate state-of-the-art precision scientific equipment in a unified accessible Shared Research Facility for comprehensive advanced research and development in priority areas of scientific and technological development in Kamchatka Region.

Objectives

  1. Acquisition, commissioning, and targeted operation of equipment for research, experimental, and measurement work for the host organization, enterprises, universities, and others.
  2. Provision of research and measurement services to universities, research institutes, enterprises, and structural divisions of the host organization.
  3. Selection and training of highly qualified, technically competent, creatively oriented specialists capable of working with equipment and solving complex scientific problems.
  4. Metrological assurance of reliability and reproducibility of measurement results.
  5. Development of analytical methods for research and development in priority areas; accreditation and certification of equipment and methodologies.
  6. Business relationships with research teams, enterprises, and industrial partners. Engagement of leading specialists for developing world-class research methods.
  7. Development and implementation of plans for upgrading the SRF with advanced equipment.
